8 Week Challenge

To the right is a before and after picture of me.  The before is about 1 year ago and the after about 10 months later.  I started doing CrossFit at a local gym when Elizabeth and I moved to Orange County and the results have been tremendous.  It started with me making a trip to “checkout” CrossFit South County where I met Paul and the tour of the gym quickly turned into a workout…more like a warmup…BUT I almost passed out and was 30 seconds from puking all over the floor, talk about a wake up call!  Haven’t looked back since and I owe a lot of thanks to Paul for that warmup/workout, the community and friends we have made at CFSC and of course my beautiful Wife Elizabeth for her daily support…who is now also kicking butt and taking names at CrossFit!

Enough with the update.  I’m just getting started!  This last Monday our class started an 8 week challenge to see who can lose the most weight, gain the most muscle and log the most miles.  A challenge I need because I’ve been hitting a wall lately and need a little extra motivation.  My goal is to get down below 220!

This is by no means a promotion for everyone to do CrossFit, though it’s worth trying, it has worked well for me and may do the same for you but most importantly now is a great time to start doing SOMETHING to get healthy.  I challenge anyone who reads this to take the next 8 weeks to either get started with a new workout routine or step up your current efforts to take it to the next level.
